Gillian Veitch

Registered Social Worker

Gillian is a Registered Social worker in the province of Ontario with a BA from York University, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor.

Gillian brings her personal experiences of anxiety, grief and family addiction, as well as compassion and knowledge gained working with men in addictions treatment, mental health care and street outreach to her counselling practice. Gillian believes that we all have the capacity to heal from our pasts and make changes to align our daily lives with our values, hopes and dreams. Gillian is committed to helping others to heal from the impact of trauma, addictions and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression and PTSD to build a better life focused on recovery, health and hope.

Gillian uses evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing (MI)  to help others to build motivation, regulate emotions and examine unhelpful thinking that hold us back from reaching our goals. Gillian works together with clients to empower them to make changes and learn new skills to improve their lives.

When not working, Gillian enjoys spending time watching horror movies, doing arts and crafts, and walking in nature with her two dogs and partner.
